23 de ago. de 2022 · Carcass (Internal shelf not included) I'm thinking of using 18mm melamine furniture board for the construction (I could be convinced to use MDF/plywood if given needed) and I'm of course not wanting to have any screw holes showing from the sides etc.

As you can see the door, when closed, should only partially cover the carcass. Carcass is 3/4" and I would like to get roughly half of it covered (9 or 10mm). I am reading about half-overlay hinges but it seems that they have a specific application (namely side-to-side cabinets with single panel).
4 de may. de 2016 · I am building a kitchen island. On top of the carcass is going to be a piece of plywood, and on top of that a laminated solid wood plank top of 3/4" thick planks. The plywood is to provide enough support for the overhang so I don't have to install corbels or legs. I painted the plywood underside before attaching it. After I painted it, it cupped.
20 de nov. de 2020 · 2. Drill out the blown out screw holes with a 3/8ths drill bit. Use wood glue to glue in some short pieces of 3/8ths dowels. Use a flush cut saw or oscillating saw to cut off the excess dowel and sand smooth. Now you can drill new pilot holes for your screws. Share.
