Jerry Garcia / David Grisman is an album of folk music by Jerry Garcia and David Grisman. It was the second album released under Grisman's record label Acoustic Disc (after Dawg '90). Jerry Garcia / David Grisman was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
Their Story. Jerry Garcia and David Grisman met in 1964, and played together in a number of different musical arrangements. They only started performing and recording together as Garcia & Grisman in 1990, usually supported in concert by Jim Kerwin on bass, and Joe Craven on violin and percussion.
Grateful Dawg is a documentary film released in 2000 which chronicles the friendship and musical collaboration of musicians Jerry Garcia and David Grisman. Director and producer Gillian Grisman uses multiple videos, as well as live recordings, to help show this bond between two friends and musicians.

The Pizza Tapes is an album by Jerry Garcia ( acoustic guitar, vocals ), David Grisman ( mandolin ), and Tony Rice (acoustic guitar). It was recorded at Grisman's studio on two evenings in 1993, and features unrehearsed performances of folk and bluegrass songs. It was released on the Acoustic Disc label on April 25, 2000. History.
