Milestone Media Company LLC is a company best known for creating Milestone Comics, which were published and distributed by DC Comics, and the Static Shock animated series. It was founded in 1993 by a coalition of African-American artists and writers, consisting of Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis, Derek T. Dingle and Christopher Priest.
DC Milestone is a program that celebrates the legacy of Milestone Media, a company that created a universe of Black and diverse superheroes in 1993. It also supports the next generation of Black and diverse comic book creators through training, mentorship, and opportunities.
In partnership with Warner Media, Milestone Media develops multi-ethnic superhero properties for print, movies, and television in an effort to bring the hundreds of characters in the Milestone library to life.
