Roger has written for, and played guitar, bass, and vocals in the band since 2007, using the stage persona of "Chubby Wombat Moonalice." In 2014 he formed a duo with Jason Crosby called the Doobie Decibel System. In 2015, The Doobie Brothers sued the band over the name.

Moonalice was formed in 2007. Roger McNamee is a musician, tech guru and a businessman. On the music side he is a guitarist, vocalist and founding member of The Flying Other Brothers. He is also a member of Moonalice. He was responsible for the incorporation of Dylan Chambers and Lester Chambers of The New Chambers Brothers into Moonalice fold.
