  4. The story of the struggle to build the first Intermediate (that is, Secondary) school in Ammanford is told in detail in Amman Valley Grammar School – the beginnings in this section of the web site.

  5. During World War Two, the school was under the name of the Amman Valley Grammar School, and twenty-five former pupils of the school lost their lives during the latter conflict. These men are commemorated on a memorial plaque, which was unveiled in the school on Thursday 5 May 1949.

  6. In September 1959 the pupils and staff of Amman Valley Grammar School in Ammanford were assembled on the lawn in front of the 1928 building for a photograph of the whole school. At that time there were about 550 staff and pupils, a small enough number to include us all.

  7. The Graig Campus, Llanelli, was formerly occupied by Graig Comprehensive School and Llanelli Boys' Grammar School. As CCTA, the Llanelli campus was based at Alban Road in Llanelli. This was the site of former Llanelli Technical College.
