Bad Reputation is the debut solo studio album by American recording artist Joan Jett. It was originally released independently in May 1980 as a self-titled album after her previous band The Runaways disbanded.
22 de oct. de 2018 · Background. In 1980 Joan Jett hired early benefactor Toby Mamis – co-manager of the last incarnation of The Runaways – as her de-facto manager, and the pair brought in former Sex Pistols Paul Cook and Steve Jones to produce and play on a demo.
"Bad Reputation" is a rock song co-written and recorded by Joan Jett from her debut album of the same name. It remains one of her signature songs.

29 de jul. de 2022 · Jett was particularly pleased in 2019 when Nike unveiled a spot featuring 10-year-old soccer phenom Makena Cook playing with her heroes in advance of the Women’s World Cup, all to the soundtrack of “Bad Reputation.” “That was a really great one,” she says.
This time around the songs included "I Love Rock N' Roll," a song Jett had tried to get The Runaways to record, and had attempted two years previously with Steve Jones and Paul Cook of The Sex Pistols, as well as Tommy James and the Shondells' "Crimson and Clover."
