Braids (formerly stylized as BRAIDS) is a Canadian art rock band originating from Calgary, Alberta and based in Montréal, Québec for most of their career. Braids currently consists of Raphaelle Standell-Preston, Austin Tufts and Taylor Smith.

Austin recorded and mixed Tess’s new record, Ideas of Space — out today on SSURROUNDSS — and to celebrate its release, the two caught up about the process of creating it.

19 de may. de 2016 · Recently I had the honor of having some of my questions about being an artist from Calgary answered by Austin Tufts, the band member and drummer BRAIDS. I had been in awe of the band from the first time I had the opportunity to listen to them live on their 2015 tour with Purity Ring.
Austin Tufts: 1. I am a second-generation drummer. I grew up in a very musical household in Calgary, AB. My father is a professional jazz drummer/percussionist, and my mother a lover of music with an amazing voice.
