This is the first CD of Steve Swell's and Gebhard Ullmann's collaboration. A co-lead quartet with compositions by both. Gebhard Ullmann - tenor saxophone, bass clarinet. Steve Swell - trombone. Hilliard Greene - double bass. Barry Altschul - drums.
Originally a quartet with Ellery Eskelin (later Tony Malaby ), Drew Gress and Phil Haynes, later it became a quintet with Steve Swell, Julian Argüelles, John Hebert (later Pascal Niggenkemper) and Gerald Cleaver and released seven CDs.
