Welcome to College of the Desert! Whether you are a continuing or a new student, you have made the right choice to pursue your education with us. College of the Desert provides a wide array of career and university transfer programs to help you achieve your next goal.
College of the Desert (COD) is a public community college in Palm Desert, California. COD enrolls about 12,500 students, of which around one third attend college full-time. It serves the Coachella Valley of Riverside County. The college is federally recognized as a Hispanic-serving institution (HSI), receiving Title V grants.
As a two-year college, the College offers transfer students an affordable option for starting college and transferring to a four-year institution. College of the Desert is the number one source of transfer students to California State University at San Bernardino.
Individuals who meet any one of the following criteria are eligible to attend College of the Desert: Have graduated from high school or; Have passed the CA High School Proficiency Exam or; Have passed the GED Examination or; 18 years of age or older and can benefit from instruction
