The Collection is a compilation album by Irish musical group Clannad, released in 1986 by K-tel International Ltd. It consists of their greatest hits dating back to 1972, with the tracks featuring a mix between pop rock influenced songwriting done by the band in addition to traditional folk music.

The discography of Clannad, an Irish musical group, consists of thirteen studio albums, four live albums, three soundtrack albums, seventeen compilation albums, thirty-one singles and a number of other appearances.
In 1986 the band put out their first compilation album, The Collection. In October 1987, Clannad worked with American producers Greg Ladanyi and Russ Kunkel, drummer of James Taylor's band, on their next album, Sirius.
“The Collection” is the first Clannad compilation to feature the song they did with Bono, “In a Lifetime”. It was released only in Ireland, by K-Tel Records. The collection was pressed again in 1988, and again in 2002 with a new cover.
