Cinnamon fue fundado en 1993 por los compositores Jiri Novak y Frida Diesen, quienes habían estado haciendo música juntos en diferentes constelaciones desde 1992. Al dúo pronto se unieron Samuel Laxberg y Christian Ekwall y, más tarde, Per Linden. En 1994, firmaron con Soap Records, y su EP debut Vox fue lanzado en 1995.
