In 1985, the band expanded to a sextet with the addition of brothers Graham Weir (guitar, keyboards, trombone) and Neil Weir (keyboards, trumpet, bass guitar), and released their sixth studio album, Crush, produced by Stephen Hague in Paris and New York.
Neil Weir (b.1961) is a British musician who recorded and played live with Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark in the 1980s. He is the brother of Graham Weir. Graham first came into contact with OMD as a member of Fiction Factory 's live band, who were the support act on the Junk Culture tour.
The Weir Brothers- Graham and Neil. Graham and Neil Weir were born on 22nd December 1960 and 10th November 1961 respectively, in Dingwall on the Scottish Highlands. The majority of their childhood was spent on the West coast coast of Scotland in Stranraer- coincidentally, where a young Andy McCluskey would 'go caravanning every summer' with his family.
