Randall Lee Gibson IV, who played drums for Boston’s Scruffy The Cat, has died. Gibson, who passed away unexpectedly on Thursday (Jan 27), was 58. Inspired to play drums after seeing Ringo Starr on TV at age seven, Gibson was also a huge fan of Buddy Rich and part of his kit was built as an homage to Rich himself.
In 1983, they met guitarist Stephen Fredette, drummer Randall Lee Gibson IV and banjo player Stona Fitch and began prowling local clubs. [6] [7] [8] The band was signed to Relativity Records in 1986 and released its first two EPs, High Octane Revival (1986) and Boom Boom Boom Bingo (1987).
