Concord Records, McPartland’s home for over a quarter century, thankfully now releases the bulk of the evening’s proceedings as 85 Candles. The 2-CD, 22-track collection splendidly captures the spirit and verve of the show.
28 de ene. de 2007 · As the album title states, this is a double CD set recorded live at Birdland celebrating the pianist's 85th birthday in 2003 and featuring a multitude of star performers; as a result, the personnel varies from track to track with McPartland on many of them, but not all.
