Academic Overview. At Salesian College, we encourage all students to aspire to the highest level of academic achievement. The selective nature of the College enables us to offer a curriculum that is broad and balanced which encourages a desire to learn and allows students to fulfil their potential.
In 1956 work began on the present Blackburn Building. It provided ten new classrooms, a new hall, gymnasium and changing rooms. In 1963 new laboratories and a lecture hall were built alongside the new school. Salesian College finally became an independent grammar school in 1966.
We are a Catholic, Salesian school, inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and the educational charism of St John Bosco. We aspire to educate all through Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness.

SJBC was formed after Salesian College and John Paul II School closed in 2011. The school was temporarily based in Princes Way, West Hill, whilst the state of the art facilities were built in Parkham Street in the heart of Battersea.
