The album was produced by Ben Vaughn and Thomas Cain, as part of Elektra/Nonesuch's "American Explorer" album series. Some songs were demoed in a hotel room in Cleveland; Alexander had been working as a bus driver in the city.
13 de feb. de 2024 · Eventually, musician Ben Vaughn coaxed him out of retirement, and the revitalized singer recorded Lonely Just Like Me in 1993 with Vaughn producing the sessions. Sadly, a heart attack took his life only a few months after it was released.
