The first line- up of Nucleus signed to Vertigo in late 1969 and recorded the ground-breaking album ‘Elastic Rock’ in January 1970. The original album liner note stated the aims of the band thus; “Nucleus is just what the word implies – a small, tightly knit group of musicians.
This brand new Esoteric Recordings release Torrid Zone is a 6-disc (in total 6 h 20 min) box set containing nine Nucleus/Carr albums released by Vertigo in 1970-1975: Elastic Rock, We'll Talk About It Later, Solar Plexus, Belladonna, Labyrinth, Roots, Under the Sun, Snakehips Etcetera and Alleycat.
12 de jul. de 2019 · Elastic Rock was recorded in January 1970. Bitches Brew didn’t come out until March. The question of “influence”, muddied by Ian Carr’s role as Miles’s first serious biographer, shouldn’t really have arisen.
