The Motors were a British pub rock band formed in London in 1977 by former Ducks Deluxe members Nick Garvey and Andy McMaster together with guitarist Rob Hendry (who was replaced in May 1977 by Bram Tchaikovsky) and drummer Ricky Slaughter.

Thanks to some prominent lead guitar work from Rob Hendry, who left the band after this album, there's much more rock here than we'll hear again from Renaissance. It's a great album, one that stands up really well all the way into 2021.
The Equals then consisted of Pat Lloyd, Derv and Lincoln Gordon, Ronnie Telemacque and Rob Hendry. Lincoln Gordon left the band in 1986 and in the same year David (Dzal) Martin, who had been a temporary member between 1973 and 1975, re-joined permanently as lead guitarist.
The Equals, when reformed consisted of; original founder members Pat Lloyd (bass), Derv Gordon (vocals), Lincoln Gordon (guitar), and Ronnie Telemacque (drums), and Rob Hendry (guitar). Lincoln Gordon left the band shortly after its reformation and in the same year David (Dzal) Martin – who had been a member between 1973 and 1975 rejoined permanently as lead guitarist.
