Inicios. El grupo fue fundado en Washington D. C. en 1946 originalmente por Harold Lucas, Billy Shelton, Thomas Woods y John "Buddy" Bailey bajo el nombre de "The Four Clovers". 1 Billy Shelton fue reemplazado en 1948 por Matthew McQuater.
Richie Merritt left the group in 2002; his last performance was the VGHOF induction ceremony. David Warren departed soon after. Mason lead a group featuring former member of The Flamingos Ron Reace, William Rawlings and Antwan Drayton.

12 de sept. de 2016 · Antwan Drayton, 31, and Arthur Newton, 23, robbed Dominque Powell, 24, and both parties exchanged gunfire. Investigators revealed that Powell shot Drayton and Newton in self defense.
