May 22, 2023 – The band KANSAS would like to thank violinist David Ragsdale for his decades of dedicated musicianship as he departs the band to focus on personal matters. David first joined KANSAS in 1991, reinstating the iconic violin sound into the band. His first tenure with the band lasted until 1996.

David Lasater Ragsdale (born April 3, 1958) is an American musician. He is best known as the violinist and guitarist for the rock band Kansas from 1991 to 1997 and from 2006 to 2023. He toured for four years with Louise Mandrell before joining Kansas, and he released a solo album in 1997.
