Soul Sounds is the debut album by soul singer Chris Clark, released in 1967 (catalogue number MOS 664). [1] As a white artist on a label for which artists were predominantly black, the album made Clark a cult heroine. [2] The album is considered one of Motown's most collectable.
"Soul Sounds" is a real classic and I personally place it among the greatest of all Motown recordings from the "golden age" from 1964 to 1972. It's perfectly orchestrated and beautifully sung by Miss Clark.
I first came across Chris Clark at a Motown concert in the UK many years ago. From that moment I was blown away! This album is from 1967 and includes her most successful hits from that period...
