7 de sept. de 2020 · A Crystal Ball original, the sexually charged "Hot Thing" finds Prince channeling Mick Jagger while Eric Leeds runs wild on the saxophone. In 2016 Leeds told the Post-Gazette that horn players enjoyed more freedom with Prince than band members who played instruments he could play himself.
Crystal Ball Volume II. A 2-CD follow-up volume to Crystal Ball was intended for release in the latter half of 2000. It was envisioned the two discs would replace the slots taken by The Truth and Kamasutra in the 5-CD packaging issued with the original release. The track listing for Volume II was this time voted by fans during the June 2000 Prince: A Celebration open-house week at Paisley Park.
Crystal Ball is Prince’s 20th full-length studio album, the fourth to be credited to , and the second triple album in succession (following Emancipation). It was shipped to customers who had pre-ordered in January 1998 (14 months after the release of his previous album, Emancipation ), with a retail release following on 3 March 1998 .
