Pinker and Prouder Than Previous is a 1988 album by British singer-songwriter Nick Lowe. It was released by Demon Records in the UK and Europe, and was his final album for Columbia Records in the US.

Pinker and Prouder Than Previous was recorded in pieces during 1986 and ’87 in London and Texas, with a host of friends, including Paul Carrack, Terry Williams, Martin Belmont and John Hiatt. (Lowe was instrumental in Hiatt’s 1987 “comeback” album, Bring the Family .) He even ended his post-Rockpile estrangement from Edmunds, who produced one song.
Pinker and Prouder Than Previous (1988) was the first indication of this shift in style, but the record largely went unnoticed. Produced by Dave Edmunds, Party of One (1990) became his first charting album since 1985. Later that year, Lowe divorced Carter.
