18 de may. de 2023 · Putting out this album under the band name seems generous on the part of singer/songwriter Mike Viola, who seems to be the creative force behind this project. What separates this release from others of his ilk is that his style comes off as unformulaic and agile in successfully balancing extremes.
Soundtrack work. Viola, along with friend Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne, co-produced the title track for Tom Hanks's 1996 movie That Thing You Do! 10 de may. de 2024 · Viola resurrected Candy Butchers for 2002's Play with Your Head, though it was essentially a solo project by that time. RPM followed up with 2004's Hang on Mike, again credited to Candy Butchers. Viola went completely independent in 2005, releasing his next album, the live solo collection Just Before Dark, on his own Good Morning Monkey label.
