Bud Westmore was asked to create a make-up for the new teenage fashion doll, Barbie in 1959. She was modeled after a plastic German doll named, Lili. Bud modified the "bee-stung lips, heavy eyelashes, and weird widow's peak eyebrows" that Lili had and gave Barbie what he called the "All American Girl look".
Bud Westmore was born on 13 January 1918 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. He is known for The Andromeda Strain (1971), Soylent Green (1973) and Touch of Evil (1958). He was married to Jeanne Shores, Rosemary Lane and Martha Raye. He died on 24 June 1973 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
