The Decalogue is a 2017 soundtrack album to the Justin Peck ballet of the same name, by Timo Andres and Sufjan Stevens. The album was released by Asthmatic Kitty to mixed reviews. The ballet debuted in 2017 with the New York City Ballet.
18 de oct. de 2019 · The title of “The Decalogue” has a touch of the grandiose: it means “The Ten Commandments.” Yet this score, composed by Sufjan Stevens for a dance work choreographed by Justin Peck that premiered with the New York City Ballet in May of 2017, is quiet and experimental.
Written by Indie Folk sensation Sufjan Stevens and performed by Classical pianist Timo Andres, The Decalogue is (to my surprise as I did no research before dipping into this) a straight up Classical piano release made to accompany a ballet performance.
