The Cry of Love es un álbum póstumo de Jimi Hendrix, el primero tras su fallecimiento, que recoge grabaciones realizadas por el guitarrista en su estudio de Nueva York entre 1968 y 1970.
George Allen Miles, Jr. (5 de septiembre de 1947 – 26 de febrero de 2008), conocido profesionalmente como Buddy Miles, fue un baterista, vocalista, compositor y productor estadounidense de rock y funk.
Otro tema importante es “ Ezy Rider ”, un rock acelerado con ciertas pinceladas funk, en el cual la batería la toca Buddy Miles, viejo amigo de Hendrix de los tiempos del servicio militar, con quien había formado Band of Gypsys. Aparecen también en los coros Juma Sultan en la percusión y los miembros del grupo Traffic, Steve Winwood y Chris Wood.
