John David Souther (born November 2, 1945) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He has written and co-written songs recorded by Linda Ronstadt and Eagles . Souther is known for his songwriting abilities, especially in the field of country rock.
In 2011 Souther accepted an offer, from Chuck Mitchell at eOne Music, to revisit some of his most popular songs, including some hits that Souther had never recorded himself.
