Rational Youth was formed in 1981 in Montreal, Quebec, by synthesizer players Tracy Howe and Bill Vorn, both of whom idolized the German synthpop pioneers Kraftwerk. The band is considered to be one of Canada's first synthpop groups.

Rational Youth continue on today, whose current members include Tracy Howe and his wife, Gaenor Howe. Over the years there have been other members and a healthy catalogue of music. They continue to tour and record, however re-releasing Cold War Night Life is their current project.
9 de dic. de 2019 · In 2016, Rational Youth (now consisting of Tracy and Gaenor Howe), released the ‘Future Past Tense’ EP through Artoffact Records. That year, they appeared on the ‘Heresy’ compilation, released by the Cold War Night Life label.
