On this album, Yorkston recaptures the promise of his earliest releases, whilst also revealing his growing confidence in adorning his tracks with multi-instrumental layers and soulful lyrics. From the outset on album opener, ‘B’s Jig’, Yorkston carves out lush arrangements with mandolin and harp, and accordingly on this track, wine glasses.

Musical guests abound, including British folk artists Norma and Mike Waterson of the much-revered Watersons, harmonizing on a darkly beautiful cover of Lal Waterson’s “Midnight Feast.”
