Kama Sutra released the band’s debut single which landed on Billboard ’s Hot 100 on June 17, 1972. “I’m Coming Home” spent twelve weeks on the charts, just missing the Top 40 when it peaked at No. 42.

In 1972 the band released the album ‘Stories’ with founder member Michael Brown who left before the recording of Brother Louie. The new line-up consisted of Lloyd, guitarist Steve Love, drummer Bryan Madey, bass player Kenny Aaronson and Ken Bichel on keyboards.
