  6. On Tuesday, February 27, at noon in the Statehouse Atrium, storytelling magician and educator Rory Rennick will present the motivational and informative “The Henry Box Brown Show”. This entertaining show brings to life the experience of Professor HenryBox” Brown, an escaped slave-turned-magician.

  7. On March 23, 1849, Brown got into a wooden box that was 3 feet (1 meter) long, about 2.5 feet deep, and 2 feet wide. The box had a hole in it so that Brown could breathe. He took only some water and biscuits with him. Samuel Smith took the box to a shipping company and sent it to Philadelphia as dry goods.
