If you took a poll of hardcore fans and musicians from all over the world asking them who their favorite drummer is, Mackie Jayson would be at the top of that list.
In April 2019, founding member Harley Flanagan reached a settlement with former singer John Joseph and former drummer Mackie Jayson in which Flanagan would retain exclusive rights to the Cro-Mags name while Joseph and Jayson would move forward under the name, Cro-Mags "JM".
Mackie Jayson. Real Name: Maxwell Montgomery Jayson. Profile: American drummer and graffiti artist. He was a member of the band and graffiti collective Frontline (23) under the name HYPE or HYPER before joining the Cro-Mags.
