The Falcons were an American R&B vocal group active from 1955 to 1963. The Falcons were formed in 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. Originally they were a mixed race group, consisting of Eddie Floyd, Bob Manardo, Arnett Robinson, Tom Shetler and Willie Schofield.

6 de oct. de 2016 · The Falcons were a vocal group whose membership at one time or another included such luminaries as Eddie Floyd, Wilson Pickett, Sir Mack Rice, and Joe Stubbs. They formed in Detroit when Floyd and Bob Manardo, who worked together in a jewelry store, decided to put together a group.
The story of the Falcons begins around 1955 when Eddie Floyd and Bob Manardo worked together in a Detroit jewelry store. When things were slow, they practiced singing and finally decided to form a group. Bob (a lead tenor) recruited his friend, baritone Tom Shetler. Eddie (also a lead tenor) brought in second tenor Arnett Robinson.
