Shirley Horn sang on "Too Good to Be True" and "Love Without Money". Williams was backed by Supersax on "Embraceable You" and "Just Friends". Henry Johnson played guitar on the album; Norman Simmons contributed on piano. Williams was still capable of moving through three vocal octaves. Critical reception

Born May 1, 1934, in Washington, D.C., Shirley attended Howard University's Junior School of Music as a teenager, where she studied classical piano -- particularly the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff and Claude Debussy. But she was eventually seduced by jazz and began listening to pianists like Oscar Peterson and Ahmad Jamal.
Today we tell about jazz singer and pianist Shirley Horn. Shirley Horn was considered one of the great jazz singers of the nineteen fifties and sixties. She was often compared to the famous singers Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington and Sarah Vaughan. She performed for more than fifty years.
