Phillip "Pip" Pyle (4 April 1950 – 28 August 2006) was an English-born drummer from Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, who later resided in France. He is best known for his work in the Canterbury scene bands Gong , Hatfield and the North and National Health .
Pyle se distinguió por un beat expresivo y maleable, el manejo multitímbrico de los platillos y la especial manera de conmutar los ritmos jazzeados con otros más rockeros. Por ello se ganó el título honorífico de “El baterista de Canterbury”.
Pip Pyle was a drummer who played in Canterbury scene bands such as Hatfield and the North, Gong and National Health. He died in Paris in 2006, three days after performing with Hatfield and the North in Holland.
