    Biography. Stefan Brecht was born in 1924 in Berlin, son of Bertolt Brecht and Helene Weigel. When he was 9 his parents fled Germany, taking him and his sister Barbara with them to live in Denmark, then Sweden and then Finland, arriving in Santa Monica, California in 1941.
