After a series of personnel changes, the group had six members: Herman Curtis, also known as Herman Dunham (lead singer/first tenor), Buzzy Willis (second tenor), Pat Gaston (bass), Monteith "Monte" Owens (tenor/guitar), Bobby Baylor (second tenor/baritone) and Bobby "Schubie" Williams (tenor/piano).
Winston Willis, better known as 'Buzz' has been a true innovator and industry pioneer for all of his over 25 years in the music industry. Born and raised in Harlem, Buzz thrived on the creative and cultural energy that surrounded him.
While the Solitaires kept re-forming in different combinations, each of them eventually went off to pursue his own career. Buzzy Willis ended up as Director of Marketing for RCA's Rhythm & Blues Division and then Vice President of R&B Operations for Polydor.
