Whilst at school he learnt guitar, mandolin, trumpet and trombone before settling on the upright bass as his instrument of choice. [4] Thompson was a member of the folk-jazz group Pentangle, throughout its first incarnation (1967–1973) and in some of its subsequent versions and reunions. [4]

15 de ago. de 2009 · The name of course is Danny Thompson. It got me wondering how much the sound of Thompson's bass (nicknamed "Victoria") was making me appreciate these albums more than others. Thompson definately seems to have a unique sound which grabs my attention every time. I of couse also love "Pentangle" the band Thompson played in.
