At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 68% based on 31 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews".. It's All Around You is a music studio album recording by TORTOISE (Post Rock/Math rock/Progressive Rock) released in 2004 on cd, lp / vinyl and/or cassette. ... The music is instrumental but the band has chosen to invite female vocalist Kelly Hogan to sing on "The Lithium Stiffs".
It's the most emotional piece of music Tortoise have yet created, working the numbing psychotropia of the title against the joyous exaltations of Hogan's vertiginous sighs.
