The band was formed in 1976 by a group of University of Leeds art students: Jon Langford, Kevin Lycett, Mark White, Andy Corrigan and Tom Greenhalgh—Gang of Four and Delta 5 formed from the same group of students.
Kevin Lycett studied Fine Art and Art History at Leeds University 1974-1978. He worked collaboratively and as a solo artist across a wide range of art, including video, performance, photography, film, print and occasionally painting.
