Duke Robillard. Michael John "Duke" Robillard (born October 4, 1948) is an American guitarist and singer. He founded the band Roomful of Blues and was a member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Although Robillard is known as a rock and blues guitarist, he also plays jazz and swing.

18 de dic. de 2019 · With a versatility covering everything from Chicago blues, R&B standards and straight-out rockers to New Orleans jazz, country and rockabilly, Robillard is an exceptional vocalist, songwriter, sideman, bandleader, producer and deejay in addition to being a label owner, teacher and avid collector of rare 78-rpm records.
By the end of the 1960s, Duke Robillard had already earned a reputation as one of the finest blues guitarists in Rhode Island after stints with the short-lived original lineup of Roomful of Blues, Ken Lyon’s Tombstone Blues Band, and The Black Cat Blues Band.
Leading up to his induction into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame in 2014, he has not only maintained his status as one of the world’s finest blues guitarists, he has become known worldwide as one of our greatest jazz players as well.
