13 de sept. de 2012 · I recently caught up with Fred Pineau, lead guitarist of the Atlantics, one of the most successful Boston bands of the late '70s and early '80s. Fred went on to produce records by local bands, including a 1985 EP by my band Loose Ties, which yielded a #1 local hit (my only #1 thus far…), a ska take on the Stones' "Last Time."

In September 2006 the surviving members (Fred Pineau, Tom Hauck and Bobby Marron) released “ATLANTICS,” a 13-track CD of archival recordings dating from 1979 to 1982. When the band broke up in 1983, these tapes—mostly cassettes with a few ¼” safety masters—had been put into a storage for over 20 years.
