Ali Hassan Mwinyi married Siti Mwinyi in 1960, with whom he had six sons and six daughters. In retirement, he stayed out of the limelight and continued to live in Dar es Salaam. He released his memoir, Mzee Rukhsa: The Journey of My Life, in 2021. In November 2023, Mwinyi was hospitalized for a chest illness.

1 de mar. de 2024 · Mwinyi was a teacher in his early career. He married Siti Mwinyi in 1960 and had 12 children. Though Mwinyi shares a name with the current president of Tanzania, he and Samia Suluhu Hassan are not siblings. President Suluhu announced that Mwinyi had been receiving treatment for lung cancer since November 2023.
