Dancin' on the Edge surpassed the success of Ford's debut album Out For Blood in both sales and airplay. Music videos for the singles "Gotta Let Go" and "Dressed to Kill" received heavy rotation on MTV during the summer of 1984.
Out for Blood is the debut solo studio album by the American guitarist/vocalist Lita Ford, formerly of the band the Runaways. The original cover art for this album featured Lita standing in front of a spiderweb holding a broken blood-spurting guitar.

Out For Blood, originally released in 1983, was Lita's first solo album, followed one her later by her sophomore release Dancin' On The Edge. Both albums show Ford's skill as guitarist and rocker, but she had to wait until later in the decade to score her first major hit singles.
