Stephen Jacob Rowland (born September 3, 1932, in Los Angeles, California) is an American singer, columnist, record producer and actor. He grew up in Beverly Hills and now lives in Palm Springs, California. His father is film director Roy Rowland, his mother Ruth was a writer, and Louis B. Mayer was his uncle. Career
Steve Rowland is an American actor who appeared in films and TV shows such as Crime in the Streets, Battle of the Bulge and The Rifleman. He is also a singer and a cousin of the late Hollywood mogul Louis B. Mayer.
In 1970, the group was renamed 'Steve Rowland and the Family Dogg'. During April–June 1970, they had a number 1 hit in the Netherlands with the song " Sympathy ", previously recorded by the group Rare Bird in 1969.
