Welcome Stranger is the debut studio album by The Blackeyed Susans. Released in August, 1992, the album is a compilation of their first three EPs – Some Births are Worse than Murders, Anchor Me and …Depends On What You Mean By Love – with the addition of three tracks recorded at the same time as the material released on those EPs.
In late 1991 four songs from "the London Sessions" were released as the EP...Depends on What you Mean by Love. Melbourne 1992 - 1995. After releasing two solo singles and playing a handful of shows in London with his band The Red Ponies, McComb had decided to return to Australia and settle in Melbourne.
The record topped the Australian indie charts, and earned positive reviews from British music weeklies as well. By 1991, however, a new lineup (Snarski and Kakulas plus guitarist Graham Lee, drummer Jim White, and organist Warren Lee Ellis) recorded the EP ...Depends on What You Mean by Love.
