The $130,000 award was announced at a ceremony in Toronto on Wednesday, though Aridjis was not able to attend after undergoing medical treatments.

The, sometimes, childlike enthusiasm and the drive of the American society appealed to Dali and he had a most productive period there. Under this influence he appeared to reverse his "paranoid-critical" method.
