After years of a mostly flat salary cap due to the COVID pandemic, it's going up from $83.5 million to $88 million. The number of free agents was also larger because many players had signed one-year deals last summer in hopes of landing a bigger contract this offseason.
Hace 1 día · I still have concerns about the blueline, I don't think we are strong enough on the right side and not sure I LOVE the Carrier deal (would've preferred Adam Boqvist or Jani Hakanpaa) but it's not the worst. What I would like to see now is Tomasino/Glass packaged for a d man or to clear cap space to bring in one more d man.

The 6-0, 189-pound native of Falun, Sweden has registered 17 goals and 39 assists for 56 points with 20 penalty minutes in 133 career games with Columbus since being acquired in a trade from the Chicago Blackhawks on July 23, 2021.
Hace 3 horas · There were many hoping for a Adam Henrique reunion. While he could play above a fourth line, he would fit the need at center. Alas, that ended this evening as he re-signed with Edmonton for two seasons. So would Jesper Boqvist but he’s not big so he does not fit the Fitzgerald theme; and, besides, Florida signed him this evening anyway.
