20 de nov. de 2014 · What has Xabi bought to the team that Kroos (or any of the other midfielders) could not? Xabi, from his very first game, was THE boss in our midfield. He came in and replaced Schweinsteiger as a player and person. Alonso even does the dirty work. Some things which sometimes have to be done as a CDM which Kroos never did.

Won a game with Akanji, Sergio Gomez and Bruno Fernandes in the starting 11, didnt count as a win. Scored multiple chip shots with Felix, neither did count.

A community for the English Premier League. Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen tactics and Liverpool's squad are not a natural fit. I love how people think he’s just going to come into the PL and pick up where Klopp left off lol. the athletic talking about Klopp's and Xabi's management are hilarious things.

We managed to score a lot of goals but struggled defensively. With Xabi in the team, we can afford to play a CAM (Ozil / Kaka / di Maria) because Xabi is basically Kroos+Casemiro.

7 de nov. de 2021 · Tactical importance of Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid. His passing and vision always been top notch but damn, he was a powerhouse defensively too. Would have loved to see a midfiled with him, Modric and Kroos. I'm so glad that he played with us and he won a CL with Real Madrid, just wished he played with us a couple years more.
